about me!

my name is Lilian Swindell, but you can call me Lily or Lil (get it? 😉). I am a Jesus lover, people hugger, thrifter, and happy dancer!! and I am the creator of Lil Bit of My Closet!

I have had a love for sustainable and affordable fashion ever since I was a toddler going to garage sales with my great-grandparents. I started Lil Bit of My Closet as a side hustle/college job in 2019 when I moved out on my own for college; I needed some extra money, but I was a full-time scholarship student, so I couldn't find a "traditional" job that would work with my schedule. I loved the idea of sharing a lil bit of my closet with others, and it seemed like a fun way to make a lil bit of money, so I started selling my own clothing and cute pieces I found at thrift stores on Instagram. I ran my lil business out of my shared dorm room and stored my inventory underneath my bed. now, over four years later, Lil Bit of My Closet is my full-time job and biggest passion! I get paid to shop at thrift stores and resell the items on Instagram, Poshmark, eBay, at in-person pop-up events, in my antique booths (Nona Jean's) at 3 Strands Vintage in OKC, and here on my very own website. I am living my dream!

aside from this lil biz, I graduated Summa Cum Laude from The University of Central Oklahoma in May 2023 with a Bachelor of Arts in Strategic Communications and a minor in Leadership. I am married to my best friend, Blake. together, we have an adorable rescue dog named Otis, and we live in Oklahoma City! my mom is also a full-time reseller, so I love to thrift with my mom, dad, brother, and grandma as often as I can! I am always up for a cup of coffee, a thrift trip, lazy day at home, and a Law & Order: SVU marathon :)
